The New York Times is probably the best known newspaper in the United States, and bills itself as containing "all the news thats fit to print." The range of news stories which appear in the New York Times, and the detail in which that news is covered, is really hard to find anywhere else. The Learning Network is a special section of the New York Times online edition, made especially for kids, will help you relate news stories to larger issues affecting your life.
Interested in learning more about the lives of well known people? This is the place to be. Brief biographical information about over 20,000 personalities, living and dead, can be found at this site. This is a commercial site, but in spite of having the banner ads typical of such sites, it provides a great deal of free information.

Inventure Place
Inventure Place, the National Inventors Hall of Fame, maintains this very useful "Index of Inventions." They also have an index of inventors which may be helpful to you if you're doing research in that area.
NASA's Kids Club
Learn all kinds of nifty stuff about space exploration, the earth and our space program!
This learn-to-read website is offered free as a public service and also offers reading and writing materials at a very low cost. The website is designed primarily for first grade, but is also useful for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and second grade.

The state of Indiana's Virtual Library now offers you a kids page designed for seaching and finding information that most kids will use in school. INSPIRE includes articles from newspapers, magazines, and encyclopedias, and is a great resouce for anyone doing a school project, report, or just a demanding homework assignment.

You can find out more information about Indiana through Access Indiana . Access Indiana provides links to points of interest such as the Indiana Department of Tourism, Indiana State Museum and Historical Sites, government offices of both elected and appointed officials, and much more.
